The North Miami Police Department is proud to announce historic reductions in crime for the year 2024, marking one of the safest periods in the city’s history. With a 13% decrease in overall crime, a remarkable 41% reduction in violent crime, and a 100% reduction in homicides, the department is setting new standards for safety and community well-being.
Key highlights from the 2024 crime statistics include:
- 100% Reduction in Homicides:
The City achieved a historic milestone, as for the first time in over 48 years, the police department recorded zero homicides for 2024.
- 13% Reduction in Overall Crime:
A significant year-over-year decrease, signaling a sustained effort to make North Miami safer for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
- 41% Decrease in Violent Crimes:
The department’s comprehensive approach to crime prevention, including enhanced community policing and proactive law enforcement strategies, has resulted in a major decline in violent offenses.
- In 2024, North Miami recorded the third lowest number of Part I Crimes in the City’s history since 1979.
These remarkable achievements are the result of collaborative efforts between the North Miami Police Department, local community organizations, and residents, all working together to ensure public safety.
