Hope & Healing: Exposing the Fentanyl Crisis Town Hall, have been selected as finalists in the prestigious 2nd Annual
CINE>HEALTH Awards. CINE>HEALTH is the world’s first and only international film festival dedicated to health and wellness, celebrating innovative storytelling that connects communities through patient and healthcare provider engagement.
CINE>HEALTH aims to bring the community together by highlighting powerful narratives across video, film, TV, and audio that tackle critical health topics. South Florida PBS is honored to have two of its projects recognized for their excellence in this arena.
Hope & Healing: Exposing the Fentanyl Crisis Town Hall has been named a finalist in the Feature Film category. This impactful production delves deep into the devastating impact of fentanyl, an FDA-approved synthetic opioid that has become Florida’s most lethal drug. With thousands of lives lost across all demographics, the town hall explores the dangers of counterfeit prescriptions laced with fatal doses of fentanyl, often unbeknownst to the victims. The program emphasizes the critical importance of obtaining prescription drugs only from licensed pharmacies and highlights the hope found in addiction recovery.
KidVision Feelings has been selected as a finalist in the Episodic Series category. This innovative series is designed to help children identify and cope with big emotions through 12 captivating episodes, each focusing on a distinct feeling. Just like a superpower, understanding and managing emotions opens a world of self-discovery, empowering children to navigate their emotions with confidence.

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA, at 6:00 pm EST, where the winners will be announced.
