Historic Ghost Tours returning to Deering Estate, Sept.-Oct.

Explore the history of the Deering Estate and step into the past on a Historic Ghost Tour.
Guides will share stories of historic events, insights into previous inhabitants and the record of paranormal activity experienced by visitors and staff. Walk the same paths that indigenous people, Miami’s early settlers, and even Charles Deering walked as visitors navigate the moments that linger on.

Dress comfortably. It is recommended to wear closed toe shoes, and to bring your own flashlight and mosquito repellent. Tour may contain mature subject matter and is recommended for ages 9 and older. Equipment used to detect paranormal activity such as pendulums, dowsing rods, EMF meters and cameras are welcome.

Ghost tours are offered on Sept. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; Oct. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Updated Miami-Dade County COVID policy: Masks are required again at all indoor county facilities for employees and for visitors, in keeping with new CDC guidance that even vaccinated people should wear masks in certain settings to maximize protection from the Delta variant. Masks continue to be required on transit and at the airport under federal regulation.

The Deering Estate preserves the 1920s era Miami estate of Charles Deering, Chicago industrialist, early preservationist, environmentalist, art collector, philanthropist and first chairman of the International Harvester Company. The Deering Estate is a 21st Century house museum, cultural and ecological field station, and a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places, owned by the State of Florida and managed by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. The Deering Estate is located at 16701 SW 72 Ave, in Palmetto Bay.
