Foodie Alert! Bite Nite returns as a caravan of food trucks arrives at Cutler Ridge Park on March 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The park is located at 10100 SW 200 Street in Cutler Bay. It’s St. Patrick’s Day, so maybe you should wear something green.

On a serious note, the 2017 Relay For Life of Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest & Cutler Bay takes place on March 18 from noon to 11 p.m. at Coral Reef Park, 7895 SW 152 Street, in Palmetto Bay. Cutler Bay has a team participating in this annual event that brings together cancer survivors, those who have lost loved ones to cancer and others with a desire to honor those affected by the illness and to help raise funds for research to find a cure. The theme of this year’s event is based on books, and the Cutler Bay team chose “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie.” If you want to sign to participate or help you will find a link to their team on this page:

There’ll be executive chefs presenting cooking demonstrations hosted by Whole Foods Market under the big top tent in the courtyard, and fun-filled adventures for kids, Virgin Island stilt walkers, a Bahamian Junkanoo musical parade and on-going live entertainment. The Estate also has on-going activities like the Pelican Skipper pontoon boat rides to Chicken Key, natural areas tours, and an Artist Lane with local artisans’ unique creations. Theater lovers, take note: Miami New Drama (MiND) at Colony Theatre is presenting A Special Day, an award-winning play co-starring and co-directed by Ana Graham and Antonio Vega. Based on Ettore Scola’s 1977 Oscar-winning Italian film Una Giornata Particolare, the play tackles the rise of Fascism in Europe and the resilience of the human spirit with whimsical humor and hope. Graham and Vega share the story of a political dissident in Mussolini’s Italy who meets an overworked housewife in a fascist family on the same day Hitler visits Rome, on May 8, 1938. With the help of a piece of chalk, Graham and Vega create a whole new universe in an empty space creating windows and other scenic elements painted directly onto the walls.

A Special Day will have a two-week extended run at Colony Theatre’s stage from March 16 – 26.

Michel Hausmann, co-founder of Miami New Drama at Colony Theatre says, “Together the imagination of the two actors brings magic to the political landscape of intolerance.” In their review of the play, The New York Times called it “fast pace, crack timing and almost whimsical inventiveness . . . So engaging.” The play will run Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with Sunday matinee performances at 3:00 p.m. All tickets are $25. To purchase tickets, visit www.colonymb.org/aspecialday. The Colony Theatre is located at 1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach.
