View Saturn and Mars through telescopes at Deering Estate

The Southern Cross Astronomical Society (SCAS) presents Saturn Watch on Wednesday, June 27, and Mars Watch on Tuesday, July 31, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72 Ave. The Southern Cross Astronomical Society will have telescopes on-site to view the planets up close. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and small picnic baskets.

Cost i $7 for ages 4 and older; free for Deering Estate Foundation members. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 305-235-1668, ext. 233. Tickets are non-refundable, rain or shine The Deering Estate preserves the 1920s era Miami estate of Charles Deering, Chicago industrialist, early preservationist, environmentalist, art collector, philanthropist and first chairman of the International Harvester Company. Nestled along the coast in South Dade, the Deering Estate is an environmental preserve and historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
