Brian L. Bilzin appointed chair of Greater Miami Jewish Federation

Brian L. Bilzin, founding partner of Bilzin Sumberg, has been elected as chair of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation (GMJF).

Serving for a two-year term, Bilzin will be responsible for helping the organization fulfill its mission to mobilize human and financial resources and to care for those in need; strengthen Jewish life, and advance the unity, values and shared purpose of the Jewish people in Miami, Israel and around the world.

Bilzin has served as counsel to some of the region’s foremost public and private companies, with his practice including all major real estate matters, from sales, purchases and leases to financing, workouts and reorganizations. In the area of general corporate law, he also handles mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and lending matters, including structured financings.

Prior to this appointment, Bilzin held a number of leadership posts with the organization, most recently serving as its general campaign chair. In addition to his work with GMJF, he serves as a trustee of the United Way of Miami-Dade and as a board member of both the Jackson Memorial Foundation and the I Have a Dream Foundation. He also is a founder of the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
