This is our student Gustavo Noah, age 14 from Miami, Fl. He is a student at Hero Martial Arts in Palmetto Bay, Fl. On Wednesday February 20, 2013 Gus competed at the 2013 US Open Taekwondo Championship in Las Vegas, NV. This event is one of the highest rated taekwondo competitions in the world and is an international event with over 2,000 competitors and attended by National Teams from around the world, with over 30 Taekwondo Olympians registered. The event is sanctioned and governed by the World Taekwondo Federation and USA Taekwondo, a subdivision of the USOC. Gustavo won the Gold Medal in the Cadet Heavyweight Sparring division ages 12-14. This is an amazing feat for Gus, as this is the first time he has competed on the International stage in WTF Taekwondo. This is a great achievement and honor for Gustavo and for our school Hero Martial Arts. Gus is a dedicated athlete and hard worker; he has his sights on making the US Olympic Team in Taekwondo and this victory is a stepping stone in that direction. Gus has also undertaken an ambitious community service project by creating the Gus Noah Foundation (www.gusnoahfoundation.com) a charity created to provide Taekwondo scholarships to underprivileged children so that they may train and compete in Taekwondo, so that others may share in the same passion he has for the martial arts and reap the benefits that the martial arts provide.
