Hershoff, Lupino & Yagel Welcomes Season, New Staff & Holds Promotions

Business people shaking hands, finishing up a meeting

The law firm of Hershoff, Lupino & Yagel, LLP and its sister agency of real estate and title closings are ready for the busy holiday season. The company has hired new employees and promoted some staff in its legal and real estate practices.

“Both the Florida Keys and Miami-Dade continue to grow at a fast pace both in business and population. That makes for more people buying homes, opening new companies and wanting legal help for everything from landlord-tenant issues to real estate closings and everything in between, and we need more professionals to help our clients,” said managing partner and attorney, James Lupino.

A long-time Florida Keys resident, Beth Miller, who has worked for the firm for the last 11 years as a legal and office assistant, has a new position as the legal assistant to Attorney Jay Hershoff, who handles the firm’s criminal and family matters. Miller is also the assistant to Attorney Jessica Rothenberg who works with clients in several areas of corporate law. Vicky Rodriguez, a former receptionist at the firm and a four-year resident of Tavernier, accepted a position as a closing processor in the real estate division. Before joining HL&Y in 2013, Rodriguez worked for five years as a receptionist and customer service representative for All American Containers, Inc.

After the retirement of long-time Office Manager Patty Schmidt, HL&Y, LLP hired Jessica Dycus as the new office administrator. A graduate of St. Leo University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and former income auditor at Hawks Cay Resort for almost two years, Dycus manages the firm’s business and accounting. Another newcomer to the firm is Vicky Velunza, a nine-year resident of Key Largo. She was recently hired as an office assistant. Velunza previously served as a probation officer in Monroe County for five years. She also worked for seven years as a legal assistant for the firm of Stearns, Weaver, Miller, Weissler, Alhadeff and Sitterson, P.A.

“We welcome the new members of our team and congratulate those who moved to new positions as they help us meet our mission of providing excellent service to our clients,” added Lupino.
