The Palmer Trinity School (PTS) theatre department recently performed the play The Women of Lockerbie, a story that pays homage to the victims of the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 terrorist attack. The play revolves around an American couple who lost their son in the attack and search Lockerbie, Scotland for his remains. While there, they meet a group of women who are petitioning the U.S. government to release the clothing of the victims found in the plane’s wreckage. The women seek to turn an act of hatred into one of love by washing the clothes belonging to the victims and returning them to their families who are in search of closure.
The play was a powerful tale of loss, love and learning to heal after unimaginable tragedy strikes. All in attendance were moved by both the story and the passionate performances given by the students.
