Marlins Ayudan and Voices For Children Foundation joined forces on Friday, Dec. 10, to help ensure that each of more than 3,000 children in Miami-Dade County’s Foster Care System received a toy this holiday. Marlins Ayudan is a new community inspired program.

Marlins front office staff and executives, including president David Samson, wrapped 1,995 toys in under three hours, completing work that normally takes community volunteers 10 days to finish. The toys, generously donated by Hasboro Inc., included family favorites such as Scrabble, Twister and Catch Phrase.

“We are so thankful to the Marlins Ayudan for their contribution to the abused and abandoned children in our community,” said Nelson F. Hincapie, Voices For Children’s president and CEO.

“With their support, and the generous support from HistoryMiami, the foster care children who suffer from inconsistency and uncertainty will experience the certainty of joy this holiday season,” he added.

“Marlins Ayudan is proud to partner with Voices For Children to aid Miami’s foster care children,” Samson said. “Participating in this toy wrapping event served to remind us all of how fortunate we are. I applaud the Voices For Children president and CEO Nelson F. Hincapie and the entire board for their continued service on behalf of the children.”
