Pan Am International Flight Academy gets approval for ATP- CTP Training

Pan Am International Flight Academy recently announced it has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), effective immediately, to conduct the Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP-CTP), a new training requirement for pilots wishing to qualify for the FAA Airline Transport Pilot exam.

Increased safety was the No. 1 goal in the FAA changes made which includes: completion of the ATP-CTP course, increased flight experience, passing the ATP written exam as well as performing at the required levels during the ATP practical oral and flight testing.

“In keeping with our long tradition of training the world’s aviation professionals, Pan Am has now received authorization to provide the required ATP-CTP course to the next generation of airline flight crews” said Gary Anderson, chief operating officer for Pan Am. “Our ATP-CTP course is the next addition to our full training portfolio offered the world’s aviation community.”

The six-day approved Pan Am program consists of 30 hours of academic training including: Aerodynamics, Meteorology, Air Carrier Operations, Leadership, CRM and Safety — plus 10 hours of training and demonstration in a level D simulator.
