St. Thomas Lutheran Church’s ‘Spring Fair’ scheduled Apr. 26

Members of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Palmetto Bay will be hosting their annual Spring Fair on Saturday, Apr. 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 30 or more vendors selling a variety of arts and crafts, all for a good cause.

“This year’s Spring Fair will be mostly to benefit Family Lutheran Camps in Florida, in addition to Camillus House and Lutheran Services of South Florida,” said Diana Orme. “Besides the vendors, we will also have a bake sale and cafe plus a ‘white elephant’ sale and a silent auction.”

The fair in April began several years ago after the success of the church’s Fall Fair. Council president Jack Hahn said that the event helps many in the area.

“The goods and services provided by local businesses in support of our Spring Fair also benefit the broader community through the proceeds that we share with the local charities,” Hahn said.

Annemarie Roberts said that there is more to the event than just the crafts and fundraising.

“Each fair we hold at St. Thomas is a wonderful opportunity for the members to gather and work and play together in preparation for and in execution of our event,” Roberts said. “I also enjoy having community members visit our campus. It is a great opportunity for them to become more aware of our church family and see what we have to offer both physically and spiritually.

“It is really a fun day, with lots of smiling faces, good food and unique offerings from talented members of the south Florida community,” she added.

Previous council president Thomas Doherty added, “While some are bigger, none are better. St. Thomas Lutheran Church…it just feels right.”

Some booth spaces will be available the day of the fair.
