By Lee Stephens….
More than 6,000 people attended the ninth annual Taste of Pinecrest at Pinecrest Gardens on March 6, raising about $30,000 for the five public schools in the Village and bringing the total raised from the event since 2003 to $250,000.

This year’s event, co-hosted by the Pinecrest Business Association and the Panter, Panter & Sampedro law firm, featured 15 area restaurants — including EVOS, The Butcher Shop, Cold Stone Creamery, Sergio’s, Crepe Maker, Roasters ’n Toasters and Clarabelle’s Cupcakes — each offering attendees a taste of signature items from their menus.

The event also featured booths from more than 25 local businesses, performances by local school groups, rides for kids, a children’s activity area sponsored by the Miami Dolphins Special Teams and Arts for Learning and a raffle for prizes ranging from jewelry to vacation packages.
