This year, BMW has completely redesigned its 7 Series. The 2016 BMW 750i xDrive we test drove comes packed with new, impressive technology and luxury features. Some of which include an iDrive Gesture Control infotainment system, a rear seat Touch Command Tablet and a sublime leather interior with multi-contour seats. For 2016, the 750i also boasts a longer wheelbase than previous models that comes standard, ensuring more leg space for all of its passengers.
The folks at BMW have put an enormous emphasis on ride quality and comfort in the 2016 750i xDrive, making it a very plush ride. The 750i’s top-of-the-line interior is truly a sight to behold, boasting a wide array of technology features that all of its passengers can enjoy. In the front row, large supportive leather seats can be adjusted to any preference with its multi-contour capability. The Light Carpet feature illuminates the floor as you approach the sedan and the Ambient LED Lighting in the cabin welcomes you in. Thanks to the newly standard longer body frame, rear seat passengers also enjoy plenty of leg space as well as a lounge-like atmosphere.
Backseat passengers can also control their own infotainment system through the two touchscreens mounted on the front headrests. Other features of the 750i include some of the following: rearview camera, Comfort Access keyless entry, wireless charging, navigation system, internet with WiFi Hotspot capability, retractable headlight washers, panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof, soft-close automatic doors, head-up display and the aforementioned Gesture Control System. The Gesture Control System deciphers your midair finger movements and converts them into commands for things like raising and lowering volume. While this is a very unique and futuristic feature, it is not all that necessary but is fun to show off, nonetheless. Another great feature of the 750i is its expansive trunk space of 18.2 cubic feet. Not only can you and your passengers ride comfortably in a spacious cabin, but you also have plenty of room to haul all of your luggage too.
As for the 750i xDrive’s performance, it handles surprisingly well for a sedan of its size. The 750i can carry its large build in a nimble and refined fashion. BMW also included drive modes that can be changed between five different options: Eco Pro, Adaptive, Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. The 750i xDrive is fitted with a 4.4-liter V8 engine that can propel the 750i from 0 to 60mph in 4.3 seconds. Its mileage is 16mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway.
The 2016 BMW 750i xDrive is an impressively luxurious executive sedan. With the new 7 series redesign, BMW has packed the 750i with a load of varied technology features while maintaining the 7 series’ trademarked elegant appearance. With a longer build, the 2016 BMW 750i now provides more room for all of its passengers, especially in the backseat where passengers can be chauffeured in the lap of luxury. The BMW 750i xDrive has been designed with all passengers in mind, giving each one control of their comfort and entertainment, making it a phenomenal ride for all those who take it.
The MSRP for the 2016 BMW 750i xDrive starts at $97,400.
