For about five decades, Chevrolet has built the now-iconic muscle car, the Camaro. Following last year’s redesign, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro has strengthened its muscle car status by now offering two strong engine options — a V-6 or V-8. While diehard muscle car fans will likely opt in for the immensely powerful V-8, the V-6 is an attractive option for those who don’t necessarily need that much thrust.

The V-6 option also sheds off about 200 pounds off the Camaro while still providing plenty of power. The 3.6 Liter V-6 is endowed with a respectable 335 horsepower. The V-6 engine will take you from 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds and has a mileage of 22 city/31 highway.

However, if you are looking for a true monster of a muscle car, the V-8 is the only way to go. Boasting a very impressive 445 horsepower and a massive 640 pound-feet of torque, the 6.2-liter V-8 makes for an utterly powerful ride capable of reaching 60 mph from 0 at 3.9 seconds.

Aside from the option to pick your engine, the 2017 Camaro has received an updated chassis, which has been dampened to make it more appropriate for every day driving. The chassis also includes Brembo breaks and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The Camaro’s gripping tires coupled with its tight performance make you feel confident and in control behind the wheel, despite the Camaro’s incredible power.

Along with the updates to the Camaro’s hardware, it also has new software features to keep track of and adjust the Camaro’s performance. For example, the Camaro is now available with Chevrolet’s Performance Data Recorder. With this new feature, you’ll be able to record video and data of your rides. Another neat feature is the Custom Launch Control which enables you to decrease or increase rpm. For 2017, the Camaro also has received a few tweaks to its looks.

Designed to match its power and performance, the Camaro’s exterior screams “mean” and “muscle” with strong, wide, angular build and a low stance.

The 2017 Camaro’s exterior changes are not all purely aesthetic, however as it has been extensively tested and altered to increase aerodynamics. Such changes can be noted in the Camaro’s lowered grill to increase airflow and newly designed rear wing, among other features.

Inside the Camaro, you’ll find Recaro seating which keeps you secure and in place even when completing the tightest of turns. Red accents against the black leather interior along with the suede accents, including on the shift knob and steering wheel, give the Camaro a distinctive and racy look.

The Chevrolet Camaro has received several attractive updates for the 2017 model year. The best feature by far, however, is the option to choose your engine. Better still, is the fact that you get to choose from two very powerful ones. The 2017 Camaro is undeniably, a strong muscle car with a very cool and, dare I say, sexy aesthetic capable of taking on the road and track.

The MSRP for the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE starts from $27,300.
