A Safe Haven for Newborns held its annual gala on October 28, raising more than $70,000 to support its life saving mission. To date ASHFN has saved 382 babies from abandonment and possible death. This is a work of love for many who volunteer and support this amazing charity and its gala was a night to remember.
Many Safe Haven families in attendance were so inspiring. Guests at the affair enjoyed a silent auction, food, drinks, as well as a lovely program emceed by longtime supporter Lauren Pastrana, co-anchor of CBS4 News weeknights. The affair afforded some great photos ops including posing with Miss Florida and, of course, with ASHFN Founder and CEO Nick Silverio. Nick, whom most of Safe Haven’s saved kids call “Uncle” Nick, works 24/7 at no pay and has since its creation. It is no wonder people love this man and support the non-profit work that impacts so many women and babies throughout the state and beyond.
