By the age of 18, Arlan Maltez already knew that his future lay in men’s fashion and he dreamed of owning his own boutique one day.
After graduating from high school and college in Miami and working at two top men’s boutiques, he joined Saks Fifth Avenue as a fashion advisor and made-to-measure specialist.
In 2017 his dream became reality with the founding of his own boutique, Aziari European Clothing for Men located at 6633 South Dixie Highway in South Miami. The store specializes in luxury Italian custom tailored and bespoke clothing including suits, sport coats, shirts, trousers and vests.
“Providing excellent customer service is important to me and I pamper my clients like babies,” says Maltez. “My typical customer is a businessman who enjoys dressing fashionably and knows that he can rely on me to provide expert advice on what to wear for specific events or occasions.”
Aziari European Clothing for Men offers a vast selection of ready-to-wear suits from its extensive inventory, although the magic truly happens when Maltez designs a custom creation from premium Italian fabrics and linings to meet the needs and wishes of the client.
“We have an outstanding team and one of the things that makes our made-to-measure clothing so good is that we have great master tailors,” he says. “The bespoke and custom-tailored process involves the initial meeting with the client to select a style and take measurements. Then comes the first fitting, and a second fitting, followed by final delivery of the finished product.”
According to Maltez, the second meeting allows the client to try on the new garment to ensure a proper fit. If there are any issues, new measurements will be taken and final alterations will be made by a master tailor.
Aziari clients have the opportunity to customize every aspect of the design and fitting process, beginning with selection from a wide variety of premium quality Italian fabrics down to the buttons and pockets. No detail is overlooked, says Maltez.
“Arlan streamlines the decision-making process with a keen understanding of my needs and time to assess options,” says longtime Aziari client Gary Ramphal. “For the past 20 years he has been a consistent presence in my shopping journey, primarily because he understands how clothing resonates with my personality, transforming shopping from a necessity into an enjoyable recreation.”
Aziari also offers onsite dry cleaning and a full-service tailory providing expert alterations, hand-pressing, embroidery and monograms for men and women’s clothing. Same-day alteration service and home delivery are available.
Aziari European Clothing for Men is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
