Miami resident Bella Thompson has launched an online custom jewelry store called Bea Vintage

Using a combination of vintage jewelry pieces, beads, pearls, colorful bows and antique watches, pendants and lockets, she creates designs that are a blend of the past and present.

“I’ve always loved fashion and designing jewelry and have wanted to start a business of my own for a long time,” Bella says. “Bea Vintage gives me the opportunity to do that.”

Bella, 24, began selling vintage and designer clothing online in 2024, while continuing to develop her own jewelry concepts. Within a short time, she decided it was time to make her dream of starting a jewelry business a reality.

“I take apart old jewelry and watches that I purchase online or from vintage boutiques, which I love to visit in my free time,” she says. “After removing the watchbands, I incorporate the watch into brightly colorful necklaces. I use vintage lockets in the same way.”

Bella has always been creative and interested in fashion. She would accessorize herself before leaving home for daycare, and at the age of five she was already making clothes out of paper. Thrifting has been a passion of hers since tenth grade.

She says Bea Vintage has given her the opportunity to express her creative side and bring new life to old jewelry that’s fallen out of fashion. Her typical buyers are women who consider themselves artsy and appreciate imaginative new designs. Several fashion models have recently reached out to Bella about her jewelry.
