2023/2024 TROPICAL NIGHTS LIVE
Pinecrest Gardens proudly presents the second annual Tropical Nights Live from the Banyan Bowl, combining contemporary music with a Latin American flair. This engaging three-show mini-series presents a vibrant blend of music and dance, punctuated by the infectious rhythms of tango, samba, and salsa, amid the lush tropical scenery of Pinecrest Gardens.
“Tango Dreams” with Musical Director Anibal Berraute on Friday, November 17, at 8 p.m.
Berraute, an Argentinean piano player, composer, arranger and GRAMMY nominee producer, is renowned for his fusion of tango with various elements including Uruguayan candombe, traditional country folklore, and American jazz. His dynamic performances offer a fresh, harmonic approach to these beloved genres.
Gafieira Rio Miami: Brazilian Big Band on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 8 p.m.
The Gafieira Rio Miami: Brazilian Big Band, led by Latin GRAMMY winner Diogo Brown, will take the stage. This ensemble breathes new life into the sound of gafieira, a vibrant and historic samba tradition, with a modern big-band twist. Featuring the talented vocalist Isa Duarte and a selection of top Miami-based musicians, this performance promises to be a highlight of the series.
Chino Nuñez Big Band Orchestra on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 8 p.m.
Pablo “Chino” Nuñez, GRAMMY and BILLBOARD winning percussionist returns this season to close out our dynamic mini-series. The Big Band orchestra will be joined by guest artists Lucy Grau and Gio Beta. Grau will pay tribute to Donna Summer with a unique Cuban twist, while Beta will honor Marc Anthony in his performance. This finale promises to be a grand celebration of Latin rhythms.
The Banyan Bowl, nestled in the former Parrot Jungle, offers more than just an open-air amphitheater; it presents a unique stage where nature and culture converge under the tropical night sky. YOUTH LEARNING PROGRAMS
Pinecrest Gardens offers a variety of youth programs starting this fall. Science and art classes are available after school for children ages 4-12. Science & Art Academy with Xavier Cortada Foundation
Mondays and Thursdays, 3:45 to 5:45 p.m.
The immersive after-school program developed by acclaimed eco-artist Xavier Cortada is a fusion of art and science where students ages 9 to 12 gain a deeper understanding of our world, foster leadership abilities, and actively contribute to environmental conservation.
Parent & Me Classes with Pinecrest Dance Project
Weekdays, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Toddlers ages 1 to 3 will experience and learn something new every day with Pinecrest Dance Project’s Parent & Me classes. Join one or more of the daily 50-minute classes including Music Mondays, Yoga Tuesdays, Gymnastics Wednesdays, Art Thursdays, and Dance Fridays. Classes start in September.
Home School Co-School with Paper Tree house
Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Paper Tree House hosts our Homeschool Co-Op at Pinecrest Gardens. The program provides a variety of topics for home learners ages 5 and up, including logic games, science with animal encounters, physical activity, and more. Sessions count towards academic programs and are led by certified instructors.
