Calling all area Jewish high school students!
Sumiko Zayon

BAFTY (Beth Am Federation of Temple Youth) is a local youth organization consisting of a varied group of Jewish teens living, learning and socializing. This is a forum for students in grades 9-12 to create lasting friendships while engaging in Jewish-based programming that is thought-provoking and meaningful. Our students pursue tikkun olam, personal growth and youth empowerment.

BAFTY meets weekly on Monday evenings from 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. It is led by teen leaders under the direct supervision of Temple Beth Am Youth Engagement Director, Sumiko Zayon.

Members include students from area schools such as Miami Palmetto Senior High School, TERRA Environmental Research Institute, Ransom Everglades School, Riviera Schools, Palmer Trinity, and Gulliver Prep.

Events and programming for the year include board retreats, holiday fun and festivities, spirited debates, social justice initiatives, support for Camp Jenny and much more.

Members enjoy having the ability to learn about Judaism and related topics, outside of the classroom and have great discussions with their peers. From generation to generation, we watch as new Jewish leaders pass through BAFTY—transforming their Jewish identities and developing a lifelong commitment to their Jewish communities.

We invite you to become part of this social and dynamic community!

BAFTY is open to all Jewish teens regardless of temple membership status.
