The board of directors of the Dade County Medical Association (DCMA), has announce that Dr. Jose David Suarez has been installed as the 111th president of the association.

The new president was welcomed during the DCMA Presidential Celebration Gala on June 19 at the JW Marriott Miami. During this extraordinary event the DCMA recognized the many achievements during the tenure of outgoing president Dr. Rudolph Moise.

During his farewell speech, Dr. Moise illustrated the impact the organization has had under his leadership despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In his inauguration speech, Dr. Suarez shared his plans for the coming year including expanding leadership opportunities and health care management education so physicians can drive meaningful reform of the healthcare system. His main goal is to encourage physicians in Miami-Dade County to be involved and accountable for the quality of care the local healthcare community delivers our patients.

The synergy between these two leaders of the Medical Association and their dedication to improving the well-being of the local medical community was on full display for the 250 physicians and health care representatives in attendance.

Dr. Moise also recognized the important role played by the supporters of the event including: MSP Recovery, The Doctors Company, Comprehensive Health Center, Comprehensive Medical Aesthetics, ShareCare, Humana, Keralty Hospital Miami, Queen’s University, Iberia Bank, New Horizons and Ross University as well as their colleagues and all the attendees.

The DCMA is the organization of choice for physicians who advocate for patients and for the quality and sustainability of the practice of medicine. Its mission is to support its members in all aspects of the practice of medicine; to serve physicians and their patients by establishing and promoting ethical, educational, and clinical standards for the medical profession, and to advocate the highest principle of all, the integrity of the patient/physician relationship.
