Anna Goraczko is a 2024 Artist-in-Residence at Deering Estate and a Miami-based artist who utilizes cyanotypes to craft vibrant images and installations that center around family history, body positivity, and spiritual connections. Incorporating found objects, digital photography, and the human form, she develops photographic blueprints on fabric, imbuing them with an ethereal, dreamlike quality. Her exploration of abstract imagery’s ability to transcend time is evident as she juxtaposes pictures from her family’s 1950s photo archive with contemporary cellphone photos. Having returned to her South Florida roots after a decade in Chicago, she documents familial evolution, creating a diverse archive that underscores the abstract nature of memories.

Goraczko’s artistic process harnesses the sun’s UV rays, engaging her directly with the natural environment. She actively involves the local community by hosting workshops in unique spaces, facilitating learning of this photo-printing technique while fostering a deeper connection to surroundings.

Educated at Florida International University with a BFA in Art (2008) and an MFA in Visual Arts (2020), Goraczko has showcased her work in various solo and group exhibitions, including “Anna Goraczko” (2023) at The Frank Gallery in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Notable group exhibitions feature her work in “Journeys”: World Cyanotype Day Showcase at Chennai Photo Biennale, Chennai, India (2023), “Mama, G-Ma, and Nana” (2023) at Miami Beach Urban Studios, Miami Beach, Florida, and “Florida Biennial: Installations, Portraiture, Materiality, and Magic Realism” (2022) at Art and Culture Center in Hollywood, Florida.

Goraczko’s accolades include the Hypatia-in-the-Woods Solo Artist Residency at Holly House in Shelton, Washington (2022) and an Artist-in-Residence stint at StoneTriggerPress Studio in Abiquiu, New Mexico (2022). Her contributions are also housed in the permanent collection at Frost Art Museum in Miami, Florida.
