Digital Marketing Doesn’t Work

And that’s coming from a digital marketer. Allow me to clarify: digital marketing doesn’t work unless you do it the right way.

There is an order to things and as a judge might say: “You’re out of order!”

The very first item to increase the probabilities of your digital marketing succeeding is to get your foundation right.

What is that you may ask? It’s your website, reviews, your presence on Google and Apple Maps as well as your social media feeds.

For this article, we’ll focus on your website.

Quite simply, your website should:

• look modern and be visually appealing
• be responsive, i.e. look good on a computer and a mobile device
• load fast; people will not wait
• have clear calls to action (‘call now” for example)
• have appropriate depth of content and tell your story in an engaging way

Imagine this scenario. You’re at a networking event and you hand someone your business card. Your website address is on your card. What will the person see when they go to your website? Is it a “wow” or a dud.

Your website is your online calling card. It’s not only a reflection of you and your business, but, if developed and maintained properly, it will help you turn those website browsers into customers because a great website enhances your credibility.

And that’s the bottom line.
