Calling All Volunteers with a Love of Fine Art.

Pinecrest Gardens is looking for volunteers to assist in the installation of an extraordinary, site-specific light-art exhibit by renowned British artist Bruce Munro. The Bruce Munro: Forest and Field of Light installation begins on November 3. The team is looking for six volunteers per day, for a few weeks of installation. We can offer community service hours should the students need it. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to assist in this project and adults must be capable of working in the outdoors and doing some bending and lifting.

Volunteer tasks:
Volunteers will assist in planting ‘stems’ and bringing this incredible exhibition to life, while working in garden areas, carefully, to avoid plant damage. Tasks of volunteers will include bending, stretching, lifting, carrying, using hand tools and working in an outdoor environment. Some sites might be muddy or wet, so please wear appropriate clothing. All volunteers will receive training and learn alongside the artist’s installation staff.

Refreshments will be provided while working. Volunteer work is flexible, but will be done as a team to build the art installation. Volunteers must be 16 years and older.

Volunteer shifts:
We are looking for volunteers to join us in both Wednesday, November 3 – Tuesday, November 23. Shifts will be from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., weekdays only. Once you have signed up through this Pinecrest Gardens website, you are confirmed for your selected volunteer shift. We will send out a reminder a few days before your shift with additional details. Upon arrival for your volunteer shift you are required to sign a liability waiver, and will receive training on your daily tasks from our staff.

On Thursday, December 2, we will host an opening night and thank you celebration for volunteers and staff to meet the artist, Bruce Munro, and to celebrate the opening of the exhibition. We will send out R.S.V.P.s as we get closer to the event. We look forward to meeting you and working with you in this unique opportunity!
