Exciting news is in the air as Howard Palmetto Baseball and Softball Association proudly announces the long-awaited return of Girls Recreational Softball for 2024! After a temporary hiatus due to the challenges posed by COVID-19, we are thrilled to announce that our beloved softball league is making a triumphant comeback.
For Girls Ages 6-14 of All Skill Levels
At Howard Palmetto, we believe that every girl should have the opportunity to experience the joys of softball, regardless of their skill level. Our league is open to girls aged 6-14, offering a supportive and inclusive environment for all budding softball players. Whether your daughter is a seasoned athlete or just starting out, our league is the perfect place for her to learn, grow, and have fun. We may also start a division for 4 and 5 year olds depending on the level of interest.

Registration for the 2024 Girls Recreational Softball season is open and the last day to sign up is January 9th! A Rich History and an Exciting Future
For many years, Howard Palmetto was at the forefront of recreational softball for girls in our community. Our league has been a source of fun, camaraderie, and personal growth for countless young athletes. While the challenges of the past couple of years forced us to take a break, we are now ready to relaunch this historic league with renewed enthusiasm.
A Season Packed with Fun and Learning
The 2024 Girls Recreational Softball season is set to kick off in January and will run through April or May. All practices and games will be held at Chapman Field, Palmetto Bay, and Coral Reef Parks, offering our players top-notch facilities to hone their skills.
The cost of registration is a budget-friendly $195, which covers your child’s full uniform, team practice equipment (including balls and bases), player trophies, umpires, and leaguewide events. We are a recreational league, which means there are NO tryouts. Every girl who registers will be drafted to a team following an evaluation day in early January 2024 (most likely January 8th). Remember, you’re never too old to start playing softball!

If you’re interested in coaching and becoming a champion for our girls’ softball community, we welcome you to register as a Volunteer. All of our coaches are volunteer family members who play a vital role in nurturing the talents and character of our young athletes. To become a coach, you must pass a FREE background check and attend a mandatory coaches clinic on January 22nd.
