On Thursday, October 24, 2024, Gulliver Preparatory School hosted the Athletics Hall of Fame and Alumni Awards Banquet, inducting five members into the Hall of Fame and honoring three distinguished alumni. Nearly 300 members of the Gulliver community gathered at the Upper School Campus for this special evening, rekindling friendships and celebrating shared traditions.
This year marked the renewal of Gulliver’s Alumni Awards Program, recognizing excellence in members of its alumni community and celebrating their commitment to the school and the community at large. Award recipients included: Scott Davidson ‘86, winner of the Hank Langston Award for Alumni Service; Nikki Hurtado ‘18, winner of the Young Alumni Award; and Maria Gonzalez, winner of the Marian C. Krutulis Faculty Award.
Established in 2010, the Gulliver Athletics Hall of Fame honors and celebrates coaches, administrators, student-athletes, athletic teams, and friends of Gulliver Prep who have made significant contributions to the advancement and reputation of its athletic programs. The Class of 2024 boasted several standout honorees: David Espinosa ‘00, Baseball; Earl Sims, Head Varsity Football Coach; Dara Spital Brenner ‘11, Girls’ Soccer; Carroll Vaughan, Head Varsity Water Polo Coach; and Conner Vernon ‘09, Football.
The Athletics Hall of Fame and Alumni Awards Banquet was hosted by the Gulliver Prep Alumni Association in partnership with Alumni Awards Chair, Valerie Berrin ‘07, and the Hall of Fame Selection Committee: Danielle Polley Bowen ‘94; Scott Davidson ‘86; Gina Derks Gardner ‘90; Brian Granoff ‘13; Andre Torres, Director of Athletics; Kimberly Haring, Director of Alumni Relations; and Natalie White, Associate Chief Advancement Officer.
