Huayuan Art announced its first participation in Spectrum Miami 2016 with a focused presentation of rare works inspired by the Silk Road legacy, the core to the Huayuan Art’s narrative. This will be the first time these one-of-a-kind pieces have ever travelled outside New York since their debut earlier this year.
Huayuan Art is a global initiative driven and inspired by traditional East Asian arts and culture. The organization seeks to share and spread appreciation of the artistic and cultural wonders conceived in this region of Asia, Gansu, China—an economically and culturally vital province between China and Central Asia during the Silk Road, and home to famous Buddhist grottoes, such as the Mogao Caves.
Liu Jungi (1951, Qin’an, China) is a Chinese artist and scholar specialized in traditional Chinese murals. Shen Yonhping (1971, Dunhuang, China) is an artist, scholar, and mural conservator.
Wang Lihua (1969, Zhenhu, China) is a Chinese artist known for her Suzhou embroidery work.
