Summer at the Gardens for children is much more than cooling off at Splash & Play, feeding our fish, enjoying the picnic and playground area or visiting our petting zoo. We are proud to offer some exciting, stimulating and creative workshops, summer camps and general programing for children—and our activities are designed for all young people 3 to16 years of age.
Little Lizards

Start the weekend with your little ones this summer attending Little Lizards Program every Friday Afternoon at the picnic areas near the playground. This drop-in, informal program features new activities every week relating to a monthly theme. Lizards read, explore, create, and imagine while learning about the wonders of nature. No prior registration necessary. Weather permitting. The month of June is all about bees. Bees are the world’s most important pollinator! Did you know that some hives have over 40,000 bees living together, or know that they are the only animal on Earth able to produce honey? Find out what the buzz is all about this coming month.
The hARTvest project CrazyART Summer Workshops
The hARTvest project is a unique and innovative art venture conceived and coordinated by artist Carola Bravo. This summer we will be offering two different workshop/camps for children and teens. These art workshops are designed to enrich the minds of your children and wet their appetites with a potpourri of creative experiences that will transport them into the fascinating world of art and all that it has to offer.

RecycledARTcouture
●For girls between 10-16 years old
●Dates: June 19 to 23 (One Week)
●Time: Monday-Friday 1:30pm to 5:30pm
●Place: Historic Entrance
●Fee: $280 per participant (Includes: materials and snacks. Participants must bring recycled clothes)
Professional artists and designers will guide girls to how design and recycling allows them to make their own “art clothing.” Participants will find their inspiration by painting, fiber drawing, sewing, collage techniques and embroidering using their old clothes to create new wearable art garments. They will make several creative designed fashion pieces and have a fashion show at the end!
POPCollage
●For girls and boys between 10-16 years old
●Dates: June 26 to 30 (One Week)
●Time: Monday – Friday 1:30pm to 5:30pm
●Place: Historic Entrance
●Fee: $200 per participant (Includes: materials and snacks)
POP Collage’s main objective is the experimentation of collage techniques. In these enjoyable five sessions, children will learn simple ways to create interesting textures and patterns using acrylic paints, watercolors and photo transfer techniques combined with ways to work with magazine images, printed photos and words. Basic tools and art supplies will be provided. We encourage children to bring their own and favorite personal papers, receipts, photos, ticket stubs, postage stamps, clip art, favorite decorative papers, magazine clippings etc. This is a fun and inspiring art workshop guided and taught by professional artists!
Game Tech Institute’s Robotics Summer Camp
Build Robots, Engage in Engineering, Enjoy Recreational Programming and Enter into Robot Competitions!
●For girls and boys 9-14 years old
●Dates: Session 1: June 26-July 7 (Two Weeks)
Session 2: July 10-July 21(Two Weeks)
●Time: Monday – Friday 9:30am – 3:30pm
●Fee: $565 per participant
Your child will love the exploration of robotics in this unique summer camp where children build robots, learn about engineering, partake in programming, have robot competitions, go on field activities and much more to round out their days!
