Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 sets the bar for performance

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The newly arrived 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 is a revelation.

There are few times when the real thing lives up to the fancy, polished pictures in the brochure. The $74,000 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 delivers an unmatched level of performance where others fall short.

Not only is the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 rugged, but the inside feels both luxurious and sporty. How many times can you say that? Again, not many vehicles deliver on both power and style.

The Rubicon 392 is the only Wrangler with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine. The moment you push the engine start button and feel that V8 engine roar to life, you will feel that 470 horses of pure power are at your command.

If you have ever seen the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at an air show and can remember those engines — and who can’t — you can imagine the sound of the Rubicon’s engine, which hits you twice. Once when you see it approaching and again when it flies by you.

The “Trail Rated” Wrangler Rubicon 392 was perfected through extensive durability testing.

From Johnson Valley to the Rubicon Trail, this SUV has conquered some of the most punishing trails on earth. Now, you can take to the off-road with serious confidence, thanks to the power of exceptional 4×4 capability.

Here are the some interesting facts for anyone who loves the outdoors.

The 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels with 33-inch mud-terrain tires, a dual exhaust with quad tailpipes and bronze accents on the wheels and tow hooks give Wrangler Rubicon 392 an appearance of strength from every angle.

What are beadlock wheels and why are they important on this of-road beast? This type of wheel uses rings to make sure that the tire remains secure even when dealing with extreme lateral loads.

This I didn’t get to try out, but Jeep’s animation shows that the vehicle has three distinct drain locations. This is all part of a sophisticated hydro-guide air induction system, which keeps the engine temperature cool and helps separate water from the intake while traveling in wet conditions.

This is essential because the Rubicon has a water fording depth of 32.5 inches, which means it keeps running up to that depth. Now who hasn’t seen a car stuck with water up to its windows in Miami? I hate to say I have seen too many. The Rubicon is the cure. If the road is flooded, which we have all experienced in South Florida, the Rubicon will make it through without a hiccup.

The performance is even more impressive when you realize the Rubicon gets 17 miles per gallon in the city and a whopping 25 mph on the highway.

So for my money, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is tops on my list of all terrain vehicles with a sound and power that is hard to beat.
