Let Holiday Celebrations Begin

Let Holiday Celebrations Begin

Pinecrest Gardens is Open Thanksgiving Day until 6:00 p.m.

So much to be thankful for this holiday season, starting with our “open 365 days a year” policy and a place to bring your family over Thanksgiving Weekend. Shake off your turkey coma on Thanksgiving Day and enjoy a beautiful stroll through the Gardens to walk off the delicious turkey stuffing, cranberry relish and pumpkin pie that you ate at your Thanksgiving celebration. We are open until 6:00 p.m. You might even catch a glimpse of artist Thomas Dambo working on our new Troll Exhibit.

Then Friday, get out of the malls and spend a peaceful day with a picnic, enjoying lunch in Cypress Hall—going to our petting zoo or feeding our beautiful koi fish. It beats the pushing and shoving of the holiday crowds and other holiday shows. It is always peaceful at the Gardens…a safe, secure and magical place for newborns to toddlers to teens to senior adults!

Performing Arts
But if it is a little more razzmatazz you are looking for we have that too. On Tuesday, December 3 our fabulous Pinecrest Sprouts will perform a concert at 7:00 in the Banyan Bowl. This is a free Holiday Concert with a recommended donation of $5 per person and an opportunity to enjoy music featuring more than 50 young artists from the three Pinecrest elementary schools.

“Stop, Breathe and Smile” performs Under the Banyan Tree with MIRABAI CEIBA
Thursday, December 5th, 7:30pm Premium Seating PRE-SALE – $40, Premium Seating DAY OF EVENT – $50, Regular Seating PRE-SALE – $30, Regular Seating DAY OF EVENT – $40. The music of Mirabai Ceiba draws the listener into a gossamer web of gently plucked strings, stately piano arpeggios, subtle vocal interplay and poetic lyricism. The sound is easy to love, but hard to categorize. It’s world music. It’s chamber music. It’s folkloric. It’s devotional. But it ultimately transcends any label you try to put on it—except for “beautiful.” In it, we hear the loving heart-play of two gifted musicians and singers—the husband-and-wife team of Markus Sieber and Angelika Baumbach. Together, they’ve created a series of acclaimed, exquisitely-realized studio albums and concert experiences that immerse listeners in a shimmering world of transcendent wonder.

Friday, December 6 at 7:30 it’s your favorite holiday concert with Maria Verdeja presents “The Nutcracker Ballet”. Tchaikovsky’s music transports you to a world of wonder where mischievous mice are foiled by toy soldiers that come to life, and a blizzard of ballerinas who reveal the enchanting Land of Sweets. This yearly tradition fills our Banyan Bowl every time while filling our hearts with Holiday Cheer. Adults $20 Children 17 and under $15.00. Get your tickets early because this show is a sell-out every year.

We wrap up this weekend of performing arts with Holiday Jazz that will blow up the Banyan Bowl Dome. DELFAEYO MARSALIS AND THE UPTOWN JAZZ ORCHESTRA, will perform Saturday, December 7th, at 8:00 p.m. Award winning trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis along with UJO are New Orleans’ most renowned musical ambassadors. Tickets are $45 and $50 and available on line at www.pinecrestgardens.org. Come early and enjoy a delicious pre-jazz dinner in our beautiful Cypress Hall. For reservations and information call 305-669-6990.

And if that isn’t enough to get you into the holiday spirit, join us on Sunday, December 8 at 4:00 p.m. when family favorite Greater Miami Symphonic Bands presents “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Music of the Holidays and Season”. Enjoy your favorite Christmas carols, Hanukkah songs, and more. Let us lift your spirits in this joyous season of the year. This family concert is great for all ages. Tickets are available at the door or call 305-273-7687. Major credit cards accepted. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children/students.
