An unequivocal musical prodigy, singer-saxophonist-songwriter Grace Kelly has rocked the jazz world with sold-out concerts, 12 acclaimed albums and a resume that includes performing at Carnegie Hall and as part of the Jon Batistes house band for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” – all before reaching her mid-twenties. And if that is not enough to wow the most cynical jazz aficionado, he also has added to her list of accomplishments the 2018 and 2019 Grand Prize Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. SOUTH MOTORS GEN-NEXT JAM
In 2015 the South Motors Jazz series expanded to include Gen-Next Jam, bringing an exceptional caliber of internationally celebrated artists to jam with and mentor a core group of youth participating in the Jazz Magnet Program at Miami-Dade County’s signature school of the arts, New World High School. These unique mentorships allow aspiring musicians from South Florida to learn directly from and play alongside Jazz greats. Free to the public. CLASSICAL MUSICAL ON A BOTANICAL STAGE
Orchestra Miami presents Beethoven in the Bowl on Friday, March 13 at 8:00 p.m.

This highly anticipated annual event will feature the magnificent Beethoven Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, also known as the Pastoral Symphony paired with one of the most famous violin concertos of all time, the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35 performed by renowned Chilean violinist Francisca Mendoza. Orchestra Miami performs, led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.

Join us for our “Daisy” Girl Scout Badge Day: Saturday, March 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. As an artist, you can walk outside and see colors, shapes and ideas for things you want to create. Find out how you can make your own art outdoors and have fun doing it. $12 per person includes badge and take-home activities.

LITTLE LIZARDS is our Drop-In Program for children ages 3 to 10 on Wednesdays, 2:00 p.m. This drop-in science and art program will feature new activities every week relating to a monthly theme. Lizards will read, explore, create and imagine, while learning about the wonders of nature. Little Lizards is Free with park admission, weather permitting. March activities are all about flowers – Did you know that some flowers are edible, or that some will only bloom at night? Flowers are more than just a pretty face. In March, we will become experts on one of nature’s most delightful gifts.
