Mayor Cindy Lerner was elected to the board of directors of the National League of Cities (NLC) and will play a key role in guiding the nation’s largest and most representative membership and advocacy organization for municipal officials. Mayor Lerner was elected in November to a two-year term at the annual business meeting in Austin, TX. She will meet throughout the year to guide strategic direction and set the priorities and operational goals.
“My role as chair of the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee and now as a member of the board will provide an opportunity to voice the concerns of Pinecrest and South Florida at the national level on policy determination and bring back best practices from cities throughout the country,” said Mayor Lerner.
NLC membership voted to expand the board to 60 members. The NLC is an advocate for 19,000 cities.
