Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC Sedan is a modern marvel

Starting at $45,550, the Mercedes-Benz C 300 4Matic Sedan is like you are driving a car straight out of the sci-fi future.

Look under the hood and you will swear the car is alive and the engine is its heart.

New hybrid electrification advances the 255-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo mild hybrid engine that produces 295 pound-feet of torque. A 48-volt integrated starter-generator allows fuel-free coasting and can recapture energy during deceleration. And the gasoline engine is further enhanced with a more efficient turbocharger, what Mercedes-Benz calls a camtronic variable valve lift, and friction-reducing conicshape cylinders with nanoslide walls. What this means to the average person is that this engine is powerful and provides an enviro-friendly solution to the climate conscious modern drivers of today.

As I mentioned before, electrifying the inline-4 gasoline engine is an innovative integrated starter-generator. It is partnered with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery to supply power for some formerly belt-driven components such as the water pump. This is designed to reduce weight and enhance packaging under the hood. In addition, the electric assist can generate additional, gas-free power and torque — up to 20 horsepower and 148 pound-feet — for immediate response. The whole package elevates the speed of this car from 0 to 60 miles per hour in six seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz C 300 4Matic Sedan runs on a nine-speed automatic transmission system that delivers 23 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined 28 miles per gallon. This is great performance for this beautiful car.

The interior is gorgeous with a mix of supple upholstery and metallic-like plastics as well as some aluminum trim that gives the cabin a stylish and modern feel. It seats five comfortably, with all of the finishes that will make your passengers feel like a million bucks.

I really like the 12.3-inch instrument panel, which has available technology to display the digital map information. It is sharp and crisp, like a modern TV screen.

The 11.9-inch infotainment screen is big and easy to use. It is positioned almost level with the steering wheel so reaching it is a breeze. It comes with wireless Apple Play and Android Auto.

The steering wheel has a big three-pointed star and controls on both sides — the left for the instrument panel and the right for the infotainment screen. I like this feature because you don’t get the controls mixed up while driving.

Outside it looks like the modern, sleek sedan Mercedes-Benz has perfected in 2022. I really like the lines and the styling, which runs all the way to the grille. Inside the grille you will find more three-pointed stars as the accent, which brings continuity and class to the face of this fantastic vehicle. The 18-inch, five-spoke tires also come standard with the car.

For my money, the Mercedes-Benz C 300 4Matic Sedan is a great car that delivers class and style.
