Your December is in full sparkle mode with a festive lineup of art, music, and hands-on nature experiences. Explore the vibrant world of graffiti and sneaker culture, celebrate the iconic Walter Mercado, and stroll through radiant holiday lights with a dynamic holiday calendar of live music, dance, and interactive performances. You’ll also enjoy candlelight concerts and jazzy holiday evenings, as well as lively parrandas and student performers bringing seasonal favorites to life.

CAN’T-MISS EVENTS

EXHIBITION: WALTER MERCADO: FE, ESPERANZA Y MUCHO AMOR
On View Through December 30 | Daily 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Get up close to the iconic suits and capes of the beloved astrologer, Walter Mercado. Designed by Yway Baralt, this exhibition features 10 of his legendary sequined and celestial capes and suits, including works never publicly displayed before.

SNEAKER STORIES
On View Through February 15 | Daily 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Explore rare sneakers and artworks at the intersection of graffiti art and sneaker culture. In partnership with the Museum of Graffiti, this exhibit features internationally recognized and Miami-based artists.

NIGHTS OF LIGHTS FESTIVAL
December Weekends | Friday & Saturday 6:30 To 10 p.m. and Sundays 6 to 9 p.m.
Thousands of lights transform Pinecrest Gardens after dark. Enjoy nightly holiday treats, train displays, Santa photos, carolers and the Jolly Craft Corner. The accessible playground stays open during evening hours. On select nights, special experiences include Mariachi, Candlelight concerts, a Polar Express movie night and visits from The Grinch.

A JAZZY AND SOULFUL HOLIDAY FEATURING THE CHRISTINA ALEXANDER QUINTET
Saturday, December 20 | 8 p.m.
Celebrate the holidays with vocalist Christina Alexander, pianist Shawn Sutta, and their quintet performing smooth jazz interpretations of holiday classics in the Banyan Bowl. Experience Alexander’s signature blend of R&B, funk, soul, jazz, and blues in an intimate concert setting.

MOVIE NIGHT UNDER THE STARS: THE POLAR EXPRESS
Saturday, December 27 | 7 p.m.
Gather in the Meadow for an outdoor screening of The Polar Express at 7:30 p.m. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and cocoa for this heartwarming family favorite beneath the stars.

MUSIC IN THE MEADOW: FEATURING VIC KINGSLEY
Sunday, December 28 | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Bring your lawn blankets for the festival wrap up with live music by Vic Kingsley in the Meadow. Two intimate sets at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. offer a soulful and uplifting finale to a month filled with celebration.

SHOP LOCAL FOR THE HOLIDAYS AT PINECREST FARMERS MARKET
Sundays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shop for fresh produce and artisanal goods and enjoy live music. Start with free community yoga from 8:30 to 9 a.m.

LITTLE LIZARDS: TREES
Bi-Weekly On Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
This month’s sessions explore the giant trees surrounding us, including some at Pinecrest Gardens that stand 80 feet tall and are more than 100 years old. Participants will hang a wish on our wishing tree and take home their own seedling.

HOMESCHOOL CO-SCHOOL WITH PAPER TREE HOUSE
Session 3 Starts January 7
This 8-week program meets weekly on Wednesday offers a variety of topics for homeschoolers ages five and up, from logic games to science with animal encounters. Certified instructors lead all sessions in our unique garden setting.
