PERFORMING ARTS
Latin 2 Piano: A Fuego Lento
Saturday, March 28, 8 p.m.
Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion presents a celebration of Latin America with Venezuelan pianists Vanessa Perez and Kristhyan Benítez. Enjoy innovative 2 piano arrangements of timeless music by legendary Latin songwriters for a sensational concert featuring nostalgic songs like Gracias a la Vida by Violeta Parra, Moliendo Café by Hugo Blanco, Besame Mama, by Poncho Sanchez, A Fuego Lento by Horacio Salgan and the famous Danzon no. 2 by Arturo Márquez, among many others. The program is inspired by the richness, diversity, and history of the Americas and the common human themes that knit us together. Now in collaboration with Latin Grammy-winning pianist Kristhyan Benitez, Perez and multi-genre arranger Stephen Buck fuse the virtuosic and expressive tradition of classical piano with the artistry and reach of popular and folk styles to bring Miami audiences this once-in-a-lifetime performance.
