New Buick Envista Avenir for 2024 is a great car

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The inaugural Buick Envista Avenir is a well-designed, fun car to drive. The five-seat Crossover SUV starts at $22,400 and delivers 28 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway.

I like the design and the bells and whistles: Avenir’s dramatic shape starts  with signature  LED daytime running  lamps above its  wide, low-mounted grille.

The grille itself is designed to radiate confidence with exclusive features such as its “black ice” chrome grille and body-color lower front and rear fascias. The distinctive pattern adds a bold and exclusive look to the “sport touring” model.

The interior is fantastic, with great “Avenir” branding embroidered into the headrests and standard heated front seats. They feel luxurious and durable, with colorful accents throughout. The “sport touring” interior features “Santorini Blue” stitching that is very unique, to further distinguish itself from the crowd. There is also plenty of space.

The 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen plus an 8-inch diagonal driver information center help make important information not just available, but easily accessible. Both screens are sleekly contained within a single pane of glass. The driver information center is customizable to help keep everything you need right where you need it. And the infotainment display offers HD color and touch-screen access, with modern perks like wireless smartphone integration.

Wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility offers easy access to music and maps from your iPhone to make calls, send messages and more — all through the infotainment touch-screen or with your voice through Siri. Wireless Android Auto compatibility seamlessly connects your compatible smartphone so you can get directions using Google Maps, listen to music via Google Play and more using your Envista infotainment touch-screen. Available wireless smartphone charging keeps your smartphone updated and your cabin clutter-free.

On the Envista Preferred and Sport Touring models, you’ll get three years of the remote access plan to help keep you connected. With Remote Access, you’ll be able to remotely lock and unlock your doors, start and stop your vehicle (if equipped), find your parked vehicle’s location on a map and view your vehicle’s fuel range, tire pressure, oil life, odometer reading and more — all on your smartphone via the myBuick Mobile App.

An available moonroof and “quiet tuning” technology speak to Envista’s mindful balance of style and substance.

This is a great looking car that makes driving a breeze. Give it a spin and tell me what you think.
