The Florida Gators men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to College Station for their final regular season meet before the SEC Championships. They faced off against over 40 teams from around the county with the men finishing seventh and the women finishing third.
The women’s team placed third, collecting 108 points. They were led by Parker Valby who, in her first race of the season, finished first among all women runners. Her time of 18:58.2 bested her previous personal best in the 6k by 43.18 seconds. Vasileia Spyrou (6th), Jordan Shapiro (7th), Emily Culley (46th) and Kathryn Nohilly (48th) all finished in the top-50 with Jordan Shapiro and Emily Culley also running personal best times.
The men’s team placed seventh collecting 338 points. The top finisher for the Gators was Ethan Geiger who placed 15th with a time of 24:09.0, just shy of his personal best. Aiden Villasuso, Cavan Wilson, Ryan Miller and Mac Wright ran personal best times in the 8k.
A total of eight Gators ran personal best times bringing the season total to 32 personal best times.
Up next, the Gators travel back to Oxford, Mississippi on October 28 for the SEC Championships.
