Peak State

As humans, everything we do and manifest can be explained by the trinity of our states. The trinity I am speaking of is made of the states of focus, physiology, and language. Let’s talk about focus first; what we focus on expands. So why not do this with love and abundance? If we adjust the lens we are looking through to focus on love, we will view our disagreements differently. It’s amazing when we discover the reasons behind the disagreement in the first place and, instead of feeling contempt for our fellow man, we begin to feel love and empathy for their situation.

Now let’s adjust our lens again to focus on abundance. Instead of focusing on what we DON’T have in the bank account at the end of the month, try a concerted effort of giving. Buy lunch for a coworker going through a rough time or donate a can of dog food to the local animal shelter. I guarantee you that by focusing on abundance, you will reap what you sow and then some.

Now let’s talk about physiology. This is referring to the actions we take. We can focus on a certain idea all day, but if we take no action, there will be no change in our state. Remember, our true intentions are revealed through our actions; it’s that simple.

The final state of the trinity is language. How we speak to ourselves is a huge component of our lives. The goal is to minimize negative terms in our self-talk. It is almost impossible to eradicate negative self-talk due to how our physical bodies are wired.

However, we can drastically curb it. Research shows that even addressing ourselves by our name instead of “I” changes our mental forecast. Saying, “Charlie that wasn’t smart to run that red light.” is much better than using the I pronoun. This allows us to distance ourselves from the action, forgive ourselves, and move on. And, on the other hand, we are more likely to support ourselves when using our actual name. For example, “Charlie you can do this.” As Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Choose life.

When we master each leg of our trinity, it allows us to achieve our peak state, which is the the ability to just be. When we do this, we are in tune with our true nature and feel pure joy. This is the state where time ceases to exist and everything is perfect just as it is. Sounds like a dream, right? Yes, but why not have a little faith in making your peak state a reality…
