Calling all young performers!
Do you want to build a snowman? Camp Sababa’s Performing Arts Camp is gearing up
for a summer of fun, friendship, and Frozen at Temple Beth Am. Students entering
kindergarten through fifth grade will produce and perform the delightful Broadway musical
Frozen. These young actors will learn various styles of dance, showcase their talent with invaluable vocal training, build scenery and props, and learn acting and improvisation
techniques through games and scene work. Camp Sababa’s Performing Arts Camp
is run by Alyssa Allen, who is no stranger to the entertainment industry. She holds a
master’s degree in film and television production and has worked as a producer for Animal
Planet, PBS, and Extra Entertainment News. Ms. Allen has been teaching at Rambam
Day School for over a decade and is the creator of the Performing Arts Camp as
well as Temple Beth Am’s Community Theater Program.
For parents of up-and-coming filmmakers entering first through fifth grades, Camp
Sababa’s Film Camp takes young directors on the journey of creating their own masterpieces.
From pre-production to the editing studio, campers will learn how to screenwrite, storyboard, operate an iPad camera, make commercials, use a green screen, and work as part of a production team. Campers will proudly display their work during their end-of-camp “Film Festival.”
The fun isn’t just limited to performing arts and filmmaking activities. All campers will enjoy
all that Camp Sababa has to offer, such as sports, science, water play, and theme days. Come join Camp Sababa’s Performing Arts Camp from June 20-July 15 or Film Camp from July 18-29.
Not into the movie biz? Camp Sababa has you covered. Open to campers two years old
through fifth grade, Camp Sababa’s offerings run the gamut from regular day camp to
“Cool Camps” focused on basketball, hip-hop and even archaeology. Camp sessions
start in mid-June, so please visit https://www.tbam.org/campsababa for more information
or contact Liora Vogel, Camp Director, at campsababa@tbam.org or 786-762-3547.
