Pinecrest Gardens brings arts and education together

We are strong believers that every child should be exposed to the arts as part of their educational curriculum. And when it isn’t what it should be because of lack of funding then it is up to us to do our best to help schools realize their dream of including a solid fine arts and performing arts curriculum for every child. It is also important that even before a child enters school, to provide opportunities in a child’s early development exposing them to the arts whenever possible. This is our mission at Pinecrest Gardens. This is part of our commitment to becoming a world class Cultural Arts Park.

To quote the Americans for the Arts Organization, “The arts are essential. They teach children innumerable lessons—practice makes perfect, small differences can have large effects, collaboration leads to creativity. The arts also teach children that there a several paths to take when approaching problems and that all problems can have more than one solution.”

Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill and strong arts programing in schools and pre-school helps close a gap that has left many a child behind. From Mozart for babies to tutus for toddlers, we need to give parents an easy path to the arts whether or not public schools are able to provide them. That said…we have some wonderful programing performed by or for children coming up in the next two weeks.
