Spice up your Saturday afternoon at the 8th annual Chili Cook-Off, presented by Ed Morse Automotive Group, returning to Pinecrest Gardens from noon to 5 p.m. on April 1. This hotly anticipated event will bring together chili aficionados from around the world for an afternoon of tantalizing tastes, live music and family fun.
Sample a wide variety of chili from the best chili cooks in the International Chili Society (ICS) and get ready to have your taste buds blown away. If you’re feeling competitive, both professional cooks and amateurs – in this case, first responders– are encouraged to enter a friendly cooking competition. With cash prizes up for grabs, it’s a great opportunity to show off your culinary skills. For professional chefs interested in participating in the Chili Cook-Off, visit https://www.chilicookoff.com/cookoffs. To participate in the First Responder Challenge, contact Nicole Ramos at 305-669-6990 or nramos@pinecrest-fl.gov.
This outdoor event will feature live country music from The 18 Wheelers, line-dancing with Southside Stampede, a mechanical bull, a classic car display, eating contests and kids’ entertainment. Best of all, proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Police Officer Assistance Trust, a nonprofit that supports officers and their families in times of hardship and personal crisis.
“We are thrilled to bring back the Chili Cook-Off to Pinecrest Gardens after a three-year hiatus,” said Pinecrest Gardens’ Director Cristina Blanco. “This event is a fantastic way to bring the community together in our beautiful gardens and savor a delicious American tradition.”
The Chili Cook-Off is made possible through the generosity of presenting sponsor Ed Morse Automotive Group. Additional partners and sponsors include the Village of Pinecrest, ICS, Panter, Panter & Sampedro P.A., KISS Country 99.9 and Insurco/Insurance & Financial Services, Inc.
Tickets are $10 per adult, $8 per child and free for children under 2 years old. Pinecrest Gardens members receive a ticket discount with a valid photo ID and active membership card. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable for another date. The event will take place rain or shine. No dogs are allowed.
