Just in time for National Healthy Aging Month, the Pinecrest Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for the 2025 Senior Games. The annual multi-sport competition, a Pinecrest community staple for adults ages 50+, is scheduled to take place from November 3 through November 7.

The event promotes physical wellness and social engagement through friendly competition in a diverse lineup of eight sports. Seniors can compete in court sports like pickleball and tennis, test their precision in bowling and billiards, or enjoy the fast pace of table tennis. The schedule is rounded out by a racewalk, a basketball skills challenge, and cornhole, ensuring there is an activity for every interest and skill level.

“We are committed to providing high-quality recreational opportunities that support the physical and social well-being of our senior residents,” said Robert Mattes, Director of Parks and Recreation. “This event is a highlight of that commitment, offering a fun and engaging way for them to stay active and connect with their community.”

The week of competition culminates in an awards luncheon, which serves as a celebratory finale for all participants. This concluding event offers athletes the opportunity to socialize with their peers, share stories from the week’s events, and to receive formal recognition for their participation and achievements. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers after each event. Qualifying participants have the chance to compete in the Florida State Senior Games and earn a chance to compete in the National Senior Games in 2026.

A single, all-inclusive registration fee of $15 covers the entire week of activities. This fee provides each participant with full access to all events, a commemorative event T-shirt, and the awards luncheon. Register online at www.pinecrest-fl.gov/seniorgames by Oct. 22.
