Pinecrest officials have organized a Stormwater Master Plan open house meeting for residents to familiar them with the project’s planning process, the project schedule and its objectives. Residents are encouraged to bring questions as the engineers developing and implementing the plan will be present and available to address questions.
The Stormwater Master Plan Open House will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 7-9 p.m. at Evelyn Greer Park, 8200 SW 124th Street. If you cannot attend, stormwater questions may be emailed to stormwaterinfo@pinecrestfl.gov. A second open house will be scheduled in early 2015.
Pinecrest has hired a consultant who is developing a Stormwater Master Plan that will mitigate flooding issues in the public right-of-way. The plan will identify current flood protection and water quality level of service within the Village, rank and prioritize flooding areas, develop and rank flood mitigation projects to address the high-priority areas, and develop a capital improvement plan to implement the high-priority projects within a five-year time-frame.
These projects will take into account current stormwater management systems and implement programs to maintain and improve these systems.
