Eleven-year-old Pinecrest resident Sean Kelley, a sixth grader at Gulliver Academy, won second place at the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship local qualifying tournament last month at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club. Kelley qualified to play in the subregional tournament in Port St. Lucie where qualifiers there will move on to a regional tournament to determine finalists to compete at the Augusta National Golf Club the day before the start of the Masters Tournament next spring. The Drive, Chip & Putt competition is sponsored by the PGA of America, the USGA and the Masters Tournament. Junior golfers 7-15 years old participate during the summer in 256 tournaments in all 50 states.
