South Motors Jazz Series
Join us on Sunday, July 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Cypress Hall’s Chandelier Room at Pinecrest Gardens for complimentary croissants, mimosas and an opportunity to select the BEST remaining seats available for the South Motors Jazz Series. With more than 300 subscriptions sold already in our 500 seat amphitheater, you won’t want to miss this event.

Nature Up Close: Phone Photography
Thursday, July 8, 5:30 p.m.- $15.00
Workshop is appropriate for students 12 and up.

In this phone photography workshop, you’ll be led by professional photographer, Pilar Andujar to learn the basics of how to take a great photo in nature using technical skill.

Phone photography happens everywhere, so you’ll learn how to make the best out of any light, space or subject in the moment. This workshop will focus on nature photography, using the lush beauty of Pinecrest Gardens to learn. Applying the best techniques to get you started and learn the do’s and don’ts of phone photography.

Appropriate for students ages 12-18, this class will cover:
● How to train your eye to look for main subjects, colors and textures that will enhance your images.
● How to frame properly and create balance: Rule of thirds.
● Fast and easy way editing techniques.
● Photography industry tips & tricks.
● Have fun learning and sharing!

About the instructor: Pilar Andujar is a photographer based in Miami Florida. With 25 years of diversified experience, her initial works consisted of commercial and landscape images for newspaper and magazine publications. While working for The Nature Conservancy in the Caribbean division she discovered her love for nature photography and developed a passion for colors and textures in the natural elements of wildlife and plants. In 2011 she migrated to Portrait photography and specialized in modern and contemporary creative portraiture with natural light in outdoor settings as well as controlled indoor studio scenarios.

Art of Preserved Flowers: Silica and Resin
Thursday July 22, 6:30 p.m.- $55.00
This class is appropriate for adults only
In this workshop, we will learn new techniques of flower preservation, and use dried florals to create a piece of artwork to take home. Silica is a wonderful medium used to preserve flowers to keep color and shape. After learning techniques of silica, participants will use previously dried botanicals to create works of art by casting them in resin that they can take home. If you have taken our Art of Preserved Flowers 101 class, this is a perfect class to build on your skills! If you haven’t, join us to learn a new world of flower preserving, and create something beautiful using dried florals and resin to take home. This class will cover the basics of using silica, the basics of using resin, and will teach you to use the two techniques together to create lasting floral art. Price includes all materials, a complimentary beverage, take home art and workshop.
