South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, & Health Channel) is thrilled to announce the premiere of the children’s educational TV series, KidVision Mission on Monday, June 12th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL. Join lovable host and Education Director, Miss Penny, and the KidVision kids as they embark on ten exciting missions to explore water safety, sports, nature, medicine, and much more!

“We are so pleased to be able to launch the first season of South Florida PBS’ KidVision Mission. KidVision virtual field trips’ success in the digital space has been paramount to our mission of enriching, strengthening, and empowering our diverse community, especially children. We are grateful to be able to expand KidVision by bringing it to our broadcast audience. South Florida PBS will broadcast ten episodes to an estimated 6.5 million viewers, helping to further our goal of bringing trusted educational content to children across South Florida,” said president and CEO of South Florida PBS, Dolores Fernandez Alonso.

Episode descriptions are as follows:

Episode #101 “Learning About Water Safety” premiering Monday, June 12th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about water safety, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with the U.S. Coast Guard and then have fun in the sun at the beach. They discover that learning to swim is the number one safety rule and that it is the Coast Guard’s and lifeguards’ job to keep us safe during water emergencies.

Episode #102 “Learning About Desserts” premiering Tuesday, June 13th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about desserts, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a cake designer and then enjoy delicious frozen treats at an ice cream parlor. They learn that desserts are sweet foods that can be eaten during celebrations, like Shiny the Star’s birthday party!

Episode #103 “Learning About Exercise” premiering Wednesday, June 14th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about exercise, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a track and field coach and then work out at a gym. They learn about fun and easy ways to keep their bodies healthy and active.

Episode #104 “Learning About Nature” premiering Thursday, June 15th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about nature, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with Everglades activists and then take a walk exploring a rainforest. They learn that ecosystems are such an important part of our world and need our help!

Episode #105 “Learning About Performance” premiering Friday, June 16th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about performance, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a circus coach and then receive a standing ovation at an acting class. They learn what it takes to put on a show, both behind the scenes and on stage.

Episode #106 “Learning About Sports” premiering Monday, June 19th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about sports, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a sports broadcaster and then practice some drills  at a basketball court. They learn that talking about and playing sports are great ways to connect with others.

Episode #107 “Learning About Doctors” premiering on Tuesday, June 20th at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about doctors, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a children’s therapist and then get a wellness check up at the doctor’s office. They learn that taking care of their mental health is just as important as their physical health.

Episode #108 “Learning About Plants” premiering on Wednesday, June 21st at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about plants, Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a botanist and then try yummy fruits at a farmers’ market. They learn about different kinds of plants, how they grow, and why they are important to humans and the planet.

Episode #109 “Learning About Martial Arts” premiering on Thursday, June 22nd at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • On this KidVision Mission to learn about martial arts, KidVision kids spend a day with Sensei Penny, otherwise always known as “Miss Penny,” and then visit a Kung Fu school. They learn about Aikido, an ancient form of Japanese self-defense, and the Chinese New Year.

Episode #110 “Learning About Animals” premiering on Friday, June 23rd at 12PM on WPBT and 9AM on WXEL.

  • Join Miss Penny on the last KidVision Mission of the season to learn about animals! Miss Penny and KidVision kids spend a day with a bird expert and then giddy up to an animal farm. They learn all about different kinds of animals, what they eat, and how to take care of them.
