The Alper JCC Miami, an organization whose mission is to provide a much-loved source of enrichment, inspiration, education and recreation to South Miami-Dade County, has announced the return of Sports Camp. This summer, campers entering second through eighth grades will not only have the opportunity to focus on a variety of sports, but they will also have the ability to create new friendships while having access to all of their favorite activities that make Camp J Miami a truly unique summer experience!
In the mornings, campers will work on skills, drills, and strategies for one sport in particular. Afternoons will consist of a variety of athletic activities, including instructional and recreational swim. They will spend time inside the double full-court gymnasium and also outdoors on the fields. At the end of each week, they will form teams to enjoy competitive match play.
“Sports Camp has been highly requested and we are very excited to bring it back to Camp J,” said Amanda Golzbein, Camp and Youth Director. “Our staff wants to establish an environment for children to stay active, improve their athleticism, and have fun!”
Sports Camp provides weekly field trips throughout the summer and each camper will participate in Special Events and Fun Fridays. Campers entering sixth through eighth grades will also have the special opportunity to stay for the middle school late nights!
Camp J is a 7-week traditional day camp program, beginning June 19 and ending August 4. Campers get the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities led by trained and experienced staff.
