The Golinsky Comedy Club announced their fourth annual show will be livestreamed on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. with a VIP cast featuring comedy legends Ahri Findling, Patton Oswalt and hosted by Gilbert Gottfried.
Originally founded by Evan Golinsky after his father was struck by a visually impaired motorist and passed away from a traumatic brain injury in 2016, the Golinsky Comedy Club raises funds and awareness for the Brain Trauma Foundation, specifically for research surrounding the foundation’s guidelines for the management of severe traumatic brain injuries.
“With my brother now in college, me and my fellow classmate, Cooper Menachem will be co-chairing the event for years to come,” said Miami Palmetto Senior High junior Marlee Golinsky. “During these challenging times, it’s important to find new ways to create memories and laughter, which is what my dad loved most.”
Since 2017, the Golinsky Comedy Club has raised over $75,000 for the Golinsky
Fund which helps experts find cutting-edge traumatic brain injury treatments and methods to streamline the guidelines surrounding severe traumatic brain injuries. The guidelines are used in hospitals throughout the world and have resulted in a 45 percent decrease in deaths from severe traumatic brain injuries.
“I’m honored to co-chair the Golinsky Comedy Club with Marlee and help shed light on a cause many people are unaware of,” said Miami Palmetto Senior High sophomore Cooper Menachem. “In addition to the Golinsky Comedy Club and Golinsky Fund, proceeds from our event also benefit the Menachem/Golinsky Scholarship Fund through Achieve Miami to help disadvantaged students who have lost a parent.”
