Around this time, single people either love the hope of a flourishing relationship with a like-minded match this year or loathe the feeling of loneliness while restaurants and streets are packed with googley-eyed lovebirds. On Friday Feb. 13, ignore the trending bad-luck jokes and take your sweetie to the Futernick Art Gallery at the Alper JCC for Sweets for the Sweets and Other Treats with Trader Joe’s.
This tasty hour-long presentation will begin at 1 p.m. and will highlight the history, culture and essence of Trader Joe’s. Ever curious as to what makes Trader Joe’s a cult like experience?

Since February is heart month, come take a ride for a great cause with your partner or by yourself. On Feb. 28, Spinning, the creator of the indoor cycling category, is hosting the Spinning Nation four-hour nationwide event to raise money for Go Red for Women. The event combines an activity that’s good for your heart while bringing awareness to heart disease. Riders will collect donations to sponsor their ride and all donations benefit the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement. A $100 minimum donation is required to reserve a bike. Nothing breaks the ice more than a little humor. Spend an evening of laughter with legendary comedian Robert Klein in our Russell Theater Saturday, March 14 at 8 p.m. Klein has influenced a generation of comedians and continues to entertain audiences and win critical acclaim on Broadway, TV and the big screen. Klein is witty, honest, self-questioning and of course, contagiously funny. Tickets range from $30-$50.
Before the comedy show on March 14 at 7 p.m., come by and check out the opening reception of Warhol and Wyeth: Behind the Scenes of the Factory Portraits in our Futernick Art Gallery. In 1976, photojournalist Stanley Tretick was sent by People magazine to Andy Warhol’s factory in New York to photograph Andy Warhol and Jamie Wyeth for a story on the artists’ collaborative portrait sessions. Through Tretick’s lens, this exhibition explores the camaraderie between the two iconic figures. Gallery exhibits are free and will be open March 1-May 3 on Sundays from 1-4 p.m.
Accompanying this in the Watson Children’s Museum is another Warhol exhibition the kids will be sure to enjoy.
Pop Art! The Andy Warhol Studio will run from March 1-May 17. The exhibit is composed of three parts – The Studio, Factory and Gallery – children will be able to create art in the whimsical spirit of Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement.
Silkscreen printing, dressing up in costumes and displaying their masterpieces in the gallery, this will be sure to engage their creativity.
