Dive into the vibrant world of Mariachi music with “Mad for Mariachi,” the second concert in Orchestra Miami’s captivating Family Fun Series. This dynamic performance takes place on January 28th at 3:00 p.m. EDT at the picturesque Pinecrest Gardens, offering an afternoon of cultural exploration and musical delight for audiences of all ages.
“Mad for Mariachi” features talented students from the Homestead Miami Mariachi Conservatory alongside musicians from Orchestra Miami, under the direction of the world renown Mariachi Los Mora-Arriaga. Together, they will ignite the stage with the rich sounds of traditional Mexican music, showcasing the history, passion, and joy ingrained in this beloved genre. The program promises a vibrant tapestry of lively jarabe tapatíos, heartfelt boleros, and energetic sones, leaving audiences tapping their toes and humming along.
This interactive experience will take the audience through the history and traditions of Mariachi and is designed to spark curiosity and ignite a love for music in young minds. Throughout the performance, children will be introduced to the unique instruments associated with Mariachi, such as the vibrant trumpets, soulful violins, and resonant guitarrón. The 65 students of the Homestead Miami Mariachi Conservatory will present a thrilling and educational show for the whole family.
